Runners will set out from Lobo Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 24, for the annual 633 Run, which honors Little Elm police officer Jerry R. Walker and raises money for a scholarship in his name.

The race takes its name from Walker's badge number. Alongside a 1-mile fun run and a 5K, it offers a 6.33-mile course, with a tactical division for law enforcement officers, firefighters and other first responders, who are encouraged but not required to run in uniform and gear.

Walker was killed in the line of duty in 2017. He had also served as a school resource officer at Little Elm High School, and Little Elm ISD later named a middle school for him. Proceeds from the run go to the Jerry R. Walker Scholarship Fund for students pursuing public service and to the Little Elm Education Foundation, according to the race listing.

Times and fees

The event runs from 8 to 11 a.m. at the stadium, 1151 E. Eldorado Parkway. Posted start times and prices:

  • 1-mile fun run: 8 a.m., $20
  • 6.33-mile run and tactical division: 8:15 a.m., $40 (ages 9 and up)
  • 5K: 8:20 a.m., $30 (ages 6 and up)

The longer courses follow Little Elm's trail system, including stretches of Hart and Walker roads, before finishing back at the stadium.

Online registration for most races stays open until race morning through RunSignup, and the Town of Little Elm and Little Elm ISD both list the event on their websites.
