Kroger has scheduled the grand opening of its new Marketplace location in Little Elm for Friday, July 31. The 123,000-square-foot facility is situated at 26587 E. University Dr. and represents the grocer's first Marketplace-format store to launch in North Texas this year.
The project, which was announced in 2024, required an investment of nearly $40 million. Upon opening, the store is expected to create approximately 200 positions. Kroger officials stated the location will serve residents in Little Elm, Aubrey, Providence Village, and surrounding communities.
The expanded retail concept features a full-service grocery section with departments for produce, meat, seafood, floral items, and pharmacy services. In addition to food, the store will stock home goods, apparel, toys, and other general merchandise. Specialty offerings include a Murray's Cheese counter, a fresh-cut fruit kiosk, and a grab-and-go station for snacks and beverages.
A fuel center with 14 pumps will also be available. Rudy DiPietro, president of Kroger's Texas Division, described the new store as a reflection of the company's long-term commitment to families in one of the fastest-growing areas of North Texas.
The grand opening event begins at 6 am on July 31. Early visitors will receive prizes, gift cards, and coupons for free breakfast items. Discounted fuel prices of 30 cents per gallon will be available for Kroger Rewards members during the weekends of July 31 through August 2 and August 7 through 9.
