Little Elm, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9774 per gallon for regular unleaded on October 2, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.9694 yesterday. That is up from $3.9024 a week ago but higher than $3.6870 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9397, while the national average is $4.3961. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 29 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.7909, drivers are paying about 119 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.7482 per gallon, AAA reported.
