The Houston Astros dismantled the Sacramento Athletics defense on Sunday, September 27, securing a 9-0 victory at Sutter Health Park. The away team’s attack was relentless, generating nine runs on a variety of hits that kept the home club scoreless throughout the contest.
Game Flow
The scoring began in the third inning when Jose Altuve’s groundout drove in Carlos Pena. Yordan Alvarez followed with a double, and then Spencer Spence tripled to center, bringing in two more runners. The Astros continued their pressure in the sixth inning, where Alex Bregman homered to left field. The seventh inning saw further damage as Smith singled and Pena sacrificed fly to drive in additional runs.
