The game began with the Astros establishing an early lead. In the third inning, Alvarez doubled to center, allowing Smith to score. Paredes followed with a home run to left center, driving in Alvarez for a 3-0 advantage.
Diaz’s single to center brought Altuve home, extending the lead to 4-0. However, the Phillies responded immediately in the bottom of the third. Turner singled to right, scoring Realmuto and moving De La Cruz to third.
Harper’s single to right resulted in two more runs scoring on an error, tying the game at 4-4. Arraez then singled to center to drive in Harper, giving the Astros a 4-3 lead after the third.
The scoring continued into the fourth inning when Smith homered to center, allowing Varsho to score and making it 6-4. The Astros trimmed the deficit to one run in the fifth when Turner homered to right center. The sixth inning brought the decisive sequence.
Sosa singled to right, scoring Arraez and moving Stott to second. De La Cruz walked, scoring Stott and moving Crawford to second and Sosa to third. Schwarber then homered to right, driving in Sosa, Crawford, and De La Cruz for a 11-6 lead.
