The animated series "King of the Hill" has returned to Hulu for its 15th season, with Richardson playing a notable role as the inspiration for the fictional town of Arlen. All 10 episodes were released on July 20, marking the second season since the show's revival in 2025, and Hulu has already confirmed the series for two more seasons.
Co-creator Mike Judge, who lived in Richardson during the 1990s, has acknowledged the city's influence on Arlen. While the show is a blend of various Dallas-area suburbs, the essence of Richardson is evident in its portrayal of suburban life. This season, the connection is more explicit with the inclusion of the University of Texas at Dallas, which is located in Richardson's Telecom Corridor.
The new episodes also feature other North Texas landmarks, such as Hank Hill repairing Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas and the appearance of Whataburger. The storyline follows Hank and Peggy as they navigate retirement while Bobby, now an adult, pursues a culinary career in Dallas. The voice cast includes Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, and Pamela Adlon, among others.
Additionally, the schools in Arlen are named after Dallas Cowboys legends, further cementing the connection to the region.
