Little Elm ISD ended a nearly five-year home winning streak at Lobo Stadium with a decisive 42-21 win against Mansfield Legacy on Friday evening. The Lobos (2-0) opened the contest with a rapid offensive surge, scoring 21 points in the first quarter to establish control that they maintained throughout the night.
This result marks the program’s first undefeated start since September 2021, when Little Elm defeated Keller Fossil Ridge 57-21.
Junior quarterback Suriya Sashwath initiated the scoring on the team’s first offensive play of the game, connecting with sophomore wide receiver Steven Harper on a 73-yard touchdown pass. Sashwath finished with 129 total yards and two touchdowns before exiting early in the second half.
He credited the team’s success to an offseason focused on building a strong foundation under head coach Keiston Alexander, who was hired in the spring of 2025.
The Lobos’ defense also played a pivotal role in the victory. Junior linebacker Tyler Paul recorded five tackles on the opening drive, while sophomore Channing Bailey contributed both an interception and a rushing touchdown. Junior cornerback Kash Alexander returned a punt 45 yards late in the first quarter to extend the lead to 14-0.
Despite allowing Legacy 175 rushing yards, Little Elm’s defense limited the Broncos to just 3.37 yards per carry over 52 attempts.
