Kroger intends to construct a new grocery location in Crandall, a community situated on the southeastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The project involves a financial commitment ranging from $35 million to $40 million upon completion, according to John Votava, a company spokesperson.
Construction is scheduled to commence within the next few months, with the retailer aiming to open the facility during 2027. Votava expressed enthusiasm about the development in an email statement, noting that the organization looks forward to establishing a Kroger Marketplace in the area.
The proposed site covers slightly less than 100,000 square feet and is positioned near the junction of Farm to Market Road 741 and FM 2757, also known as Sunrise Boulevard. Crandall is a small municipality in Kaufman County with a population under 4,000 residents based on 2020 census figures.
This development follows Kroger’s opening of a location in Little Elm earlier this year. The company continues to expand its footprint across North Texas, citing the region’s robust population growth and economic activity as key drivers for investment. Retailers such as H-E-B and Costco are also introducing new stores to the area.
