Residents and visitors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area have a variety of extended-run events to attend this summer, ranging from immersive film experiences to major sporting festivals. Frisco is about 7 miles east of Little Elm, placing it within easy reach of several regional attractions.

In The Colony, Cosm Dallas is hosting an immersive screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Running from May 7 through July 2, the experience utilizes a massive 12K LED dome to surround audiences with visuals and environments inspired by the wizarding world. The attraction blends cinema with themed entertainment to create a fully transported feeling for guests.

Soccer fans have multiple options to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2026, which takes place from June 14 to July 14. AT&T Stadium in Arlington will host nine matches during the tournament. Additionally, FC Dallas is organizing a 34-day fan festival at Simpson Plaza in Frisco from June 11 to July 19. This event features live match watch parties, interactive activities, live music, and food. Free tickets are required for entry to the plaza.

A similar celebration, Dallas Fan Fest, is scheduled from June 11 to July 19 at Fair Park in Dallas. This gathering offers live match screenings, entertainment, food, and cultural experiences for visitors from around the world.

For those interested in history and art, several exhibitions are open across the region. The Frisco Heritage Museum is presenting Legends of Soccer from June 15 to December 1. This free exhibit covers World Cup history through tributes to players like Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, and Pelé, as well as iconic moments from the 1950, 1966, and 2010 tournaments.

In McKinney, Millhouse is hosting America 250: Texas Trailblazing Wonder Women Exhibition from June 15 to August 30. The juried show features 25 large-scale works by Texas artists honoring influential women in history. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is displaying Hunt Slonem: Bunnies, Birds & Butterflies from April 20 to September 30. The internationally recognized neo-expressionist artist’s large-scale sculptures and colorful installations are set throughout the gardens.

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas is also featuring Soccer: More Than a Game from March 7 to September 7. This 10,000-square-foot interactive exhibition explores the science behind soccer, including the physics of free kicks and championship strategies, through STEM-focused displays.
