Tayven Jackson has been designated as the starting quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green, gearing up for their season opener against Indiana University on September 5, 2026.
Jackson, who has played for the Hoosiers, has an extensive college football background. He had limited appearances at Tennessee in 2022 and took part in 13 games for Indiana during the 2023-24 season, where he recorded a completion percentage of 61.2% along with six touchdowns and six interceptions.
In 2025, he moved to the University of Central Florida (UCF), achieving a completion rate of 63.5% with 2,151 passing yards, ten touchdowns, and eight interceptions, contributing to UCF's 5-7 season record.
Prior to his collegiate career, Jackson excelled at Center Grove High School, throwing for 4,813 yards and 47 touchdowns from 2018 to 2021, which helped lead his team to an undefeated championship in Class 6A.
