TCU’s 21-13 defeat at Central Florida left the Horned Frogs 2-2 overall and 0-2 against Power Four teams. The Big 12 opener for both programs included 11 TCU penalties totaling 86 yards, two fewer turnovers than UCF and an average of 1.2 yards per rushing attempt.
TCU is averaging 11.5 points through its first month after entering the season seeking a 4-0 start and an ESPN “College GameDay” visit to Fort Worth for the BYU game.
The result has also put Jaden Craig’s starting position under review. Craig, a Harvard transfer, completed 45 of 72 passes for 485 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns against North Carolina and UCF. He also recorded minus-38 yards on 10 carries in those games, with sacks included in college rushing totals.
The report said his receivers have provided limited help, while Craig has had difficulty creating plays when pressure disrupts the pocket.
Sophomore Adam Schobel has played once this season, completing one pass, and did not appear as a freshman in 2025. Craig is paid more than Schobel under his TCU agreement, making a switch a financial and roster decision. TCU may keep Craig for BYU, while Schobel’s first start could come at Baylor on Oct. 17 after the bye week.
