Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as reported by head coach Dave Aranda. The team is optimistic about his potential to participate in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.

Lagway sustained the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. Despite the setback, he played the entire match and effectively led the offense, although his movement was restricted.

In his first game with Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes for a total of 333 yards, achieving two touchdowns and one interception. He played a significant role in a late-game comeback, overcoming a 17-10 deficit.

Lagway made a crucial 28-yard connection with Gavin Freeman on a pivotal fourth-and-10 play, and then he connected with Jadon Porter for a 27-yard pass that advanced the Bears to the Auburn 5-yard line. He finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Freeman from 5 yards out with just 9 seconds left in the game.

The team will provide further updates on Lagway's recovery following practices on Tuesday and Wednesday.
