Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is expected to sit out the team’s game with Louisiana Tech while recovering from an ankle injury. The Bears then are scheduled to begin Big 12 play against Colorado on Sept. 26, where Lagway could be available.
Lagway was hurt in Baylor’s season-opening 17-16 defeat against Auburn. Sources told On3 Sports that the junior quarterback sustained a high-ankle sprain, and coach Dave Aranda previously characterized his status as day-to-day. Lagway also missed Baylor’s following game, a 44-3 win over Prairie View.
Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported that Lagway is progressing toward a return against Colorado and Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes. The report did not establish that Lagway will play. ClutchPoints reported that the timing of his comeback is still not known beyond the indication that he is moving toward the Colorado game.
