Dallas safety Jalen Thompson is expected to be out for at least four weeks with a hamstring injury, executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. The Cowboys have not decided whether to put him on injured reserve, although Thompson is considered a possible candidate.
Thompson was hurt in the second quarter of Dallas' 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. Before exiting, he had played every defensive snap through the Cowboys' first nine-plus quarters of the season and made 17 tackles.
The injury further reduces Dallas' options at safety. Malik Hooker has been unavailable for the last two games because of a forearm injury. P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday after sustaining a foot injury.
