The Dallas Cowboys have officially signed tight end Mitch Van Vooren. This move follows his release from the New England Patriots on August 18, according to Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The Cowboys are currently dealing with injuries affecting their backup tight ends, which include Brevyn Spann-Ford, Michael Trigg, and D.J. Rogers. As a result, the team had only two healthy tight ends available in their most recent preseason game.
Van Vooren has yet to make an appearance in an NFL regular-season game, but he will have a chance to demonstrate his abilities in the Cowboys' final preseason matchup. Details regarding the team's intentions for Van Vooren have not been disclosed.
