Jalen Thompson is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks with a hamstring injury, Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said. Jones also said the team could look for another safety because injuries have reduced its options at the position.
Dallas will next face the 0-3 Houston Texans in Houston next Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern time. The Cowboys entered that matchup with a 1-2 record after losing 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil.
Thompson was hurt in the loss. Dallas had a chance to send the game to overtime late, but Baltimore connected on a long pass and then kicked the winning field goal. The Cowboys also allowed the New York Giants to generate a strong offensive showing in Week 1 and surrendered late production to Marcus Mariota in Week 2.
Jones did not identify any specific players or teams Dallas might pursue for safety help.
