A football player from Crandall High School sustained an injury during practice and was airlifted for medical treatment. The incident occurred at the PIT in Crandall, located about 20 miles east of Dallas in Kaufman County.

Crandall Independent School District (ISD) shared a notice on social media regarding the helicopter landing near the baseball fields, which was necessary to ensure the student received advanced medical care. The district also acknowledged that the sight of emergency vehicles and the helicopter may have caused concern among the community and aimed to keep families informed.

In its statement, Crandall ISD expressed a request for the community to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time, stating that the district is thinking of the student and their family. CBS News Texas will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
