DJ Lagway is trending toward a possible return when Baylor hosts Colorado on Sept. 26, according to an On3 report from Pete Nakos. Baylor is continuing to monitor the quarterback carefully, while Lagway remains unlikely to play against Louisiana Tech on Saturday.

Lagway hurt his ankle in Baylor's 17-16 season-opening loss to Auburn. He completed the game with 333 passing yards, two touchdown throws and an interception, and a wrap was visible on the injured ankle. The injury then kept him out of Baylor's 44-3 win over Prairie View A&M.

Nate Bennett filled in against Prairie View, completing 24 of 36 passes for 314 yards. He threw for three touchdowns and added another score on the ground. Baylor coach Dave Aranda said Lagway felt good at a Sunday practice, and Lagway was slated to take part in team work during the week.

Bennett could make a second consecutive start against Louisiana Tech. Colorado is scheduled to play Northwestern before traveling to Baylor for the 10 a.m. MT matchup on Sept. 26.

The game could feature Lagway and Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis if Lagway is cleared.
