Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte held a press conference discussing his recent trade from the New England Patriots to the Houston Texans. This event occurred one week after the trade, where Boutte shared his thoughts on joining the Texans and the factors that led to his departure from New England.
Boutte requested a trade during the offseason, expressing a desire for a more significant role in the team's offense. He noted that the signing of Romeo Doubs to a four-year deal valued at $68 million and the acquisition of A.J. Brown, which involved trading first- and fifth-round draft picks, changed the dynamics of the Patriots' receiving corps.
As a result, Boutte found himself as the fourth wide receiver in training camp, behind Doubs, Brown, and DeMario Douglas.
Despite a successful 2024 season, where he recorded 42 receptions for 719 yards and seven touchdowns, Boutte faced the possibility of not being active on game days, as mentioned by head coach Mike Vrabel after the preseason's final game. Boutte responded to these comments, indicating he did not view them negatively and preferred to focus on his career moving forward with the Texans.
