The Houston Texans are facing uncertainty regarding wide receiver Tank Dell as the season opener approaches. Reports indicate that Dell is not expected to be ready for the first game, having only taken part in individual drills and limited team exercises during training camp.

According to Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, Dell has not practiced in front of the media recently, which has raised further concerns about his status. While two league sources have stated that he has not suffered a setback, Dell is still unable to practice consistently.

With just three weeks left before the Texans' first game on September 13, it seems unlikely he will participate in the final preseason match.

In addition to Dell's situation, the Texans are also dealing with the impact of Jayden Higgins' ACL injury, which has complicated the No. 2 wide receiver position alongside Nico Collins. Candidates like Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel are now vying for that role. Although there is optimism about Dell's potential return, it remains uncertain when he will be able to contribute fully to the team.

His absence could affect the Texans' season aspirations, but the team may still adjust accordingly as they finalize their roster.
