North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks announced Sept. 17 that he had switched his commitment from Stephen F. Austin to TCU, giving the Horned Frogs their 19th pledge for the 2027 class.

Brooks, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 265 pounds, said conversations with his family and personal prayer shaped the decision. He also said staying near home was part of the choice. His previous offers were mainly from Football Championship Subdivision schools, including Stephen F. Austin and Southern University.

TCU became his first Football Bowl Subdivision offer, and Brooks selected the chance to compete in the Power Four with the Horned Frogs.

North Crowley has started the season 3-0, with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are set to visit Duncanville for a 7 p.m. game Friday. TCU’s 2027 group is ranked No. 54 nationally and No. 8 in the Big 12, according to sports.yahoo.com.
