Dalton Schultz, the tight end for the Houston Texans, did not take part in any of the team's three preseason matchups. Along with Schultz, running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Nico Collins were also absent from the games. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited playing time in the matchup against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a successful 2025 regular season, where he set a career-high with 82 receptions and accumulated 777 receiving yards, his best performance since 2021 with the Cowboys, where he recorded 808 yards.
With Jayden Higgins out for the entire 2026 season because of a knee injury and Tank Dell beginning the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are anticipated to be crucial targets for Stroud in the upcoming season.
