The Houston Texans worked out linebacker Kenneth Murray on Tuesday, but he left the visit without signing a contract. The team is seeking help after Henry To'oTo'o sustained a shoulder injury. To'oTo'o is now on injured reserve, with an absence of several months expected, and Houston elevated Jamal Hill from its practice squad to the active roster.
Murray, 27, was the Los Angeles Chargers' 23rd overall pick in 2020 after receiving All-American recognition at Oklahoma. He moved to the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and led that club in tackles. During the next offseason, Dallas obtained him from Tennessee for two draft picks.
Murray opened all 16 games for the Cowboys last season. His statistics included 81 tackles, two pass breakups, four tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery, placing him second on Dallas in tackles. He has visited the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants for workouts since the offseason started.
Houston could consider him for practice-squad depth and game-day elevations, though no agreement was reported. The Texans are set to meet the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium, with kickoff at noon on CBS.
