Nico Collins’ availability for the Houston Texans’ Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals remains undecided after the wide receiver missed Thursday and Friday practices. The injury occurred during Houston’s Wednesday workout, and the team has not announced his official game status.
NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Texans doctors did not view the injury as serious. Ian Rapoport also said Friday on *The Pat McAfee Show* that the hamstring problem did not appear severe, but he described Collins’ absence from two straight workouts as unfavorable to his chances of playing.
Collins, 27, had seven catches, 75 receiving yards and one touchdown on 10 targets in Houston’s 36-31 season-opening loss to the Buffalo Bills. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past three seasons. ClutchPoints.com reported that Collins could possibly return for Houston’s Week 3 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27 if he is unavailable against Cincinnati.
