The Houston Texans have announced the addition of running back Deuce Vaughn to their roster. Vaughn, who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, was on the Denver Broncos' practice squad throughout the 2025 season after joining in September of the previous year. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Broncos in January but was released by the team in May.
Vaughn then played for the UFL's Orlando Storm before making his return to the NFL with the Texans.
To make room for Vaughn, the Texans waived wide receiver Juwann Winfree, who also previously played for the Broncos. The Texans have been active in their roster management, having held workouts with former Denver receiver Josh Reynolds and running back Blake Watson, as reported by the NFL's transaction wire.
Currently, four other players from the Broncos' practice squad remain free agents following the expiration of their contracts in February. This group includes quarterback Ben DiNucci, tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Patrick Murtagh, and defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell. Additionally, defensive lineman Jonathan Harris has recently tried out for the Minnesota Vikings.
No further information has been shared regarding Vaughn's expected role with the Texans or Winfree's future plans.
