Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko has confirmed that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the remainder of the 2026 season because of a lower-body injury that occurred during practice. Williams will require surgery, adding to the team's challenges as he is the third wide receiver to be sidelined before the season begins.

In addition to Williams, safety Tawfiq Byard also missed the season opener against Missouri State. Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson was removed from the roster after transferring from Houston, and Jerome Myles, a former five-star recruit, left the program due to personal reasons after missing the entire 2025 season with an injury.

With Williams unavailable, Texas A&M will depend on its remaining wide receivers, including Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. True freshman Aaron Gregory made a notable contribution in the opener, catching a 15-yard touchdown pass and totaling two receptions for 22 yards. Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will also see increased opportunities, with Johnson recording three catches for 25 yards against Missouri State.

The team plans to finalize the depth chart for wide receivers in the upcoming games before facing LSU in Baton Rouge.
