Dalton Schultz may become a bigger part of Houston's passing attack if Nico Collins cannot play against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. Collins sustained a hamstring injury during Houston's Wednesday practice, according to a report from SI.com that cited ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Texans do not consider the injury serious, the report said, though Collins' status for the game is still uncertain. Houston may take a careful approach because Collins previously missed time with a Grade 2 hamstring strain in 2024 that led to injured reserve. His absence would alter the team's receiving options and could increase Schultz's workload.

Schultz led the Texans in receptions in 2025, with 82 catches for 777 yards. His production also rose last season when Collins exited a Week 7 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Schultz received 10 passes in that game and ended it with nine receptions totaling 98 yards. No final status update on Collins was included in the report.
