The Dallas Cowboys completed their roster adjustments to comply with the NFL's 53-player limit, resulting in several key player releases. Among those let go were Jaydon Blue, a running back in his second year, and Sam Williams, a former second-round draft choice. In an unexpected decision, quarterback Joe Milton III was also released despite having a strong showing during the preseason.

To bolster their lineup, the Cowboys added running back Emari Demercado from waivers and signed offensive tackle Wanya Morris. Many players who were cut were retained on the practice squad, which now features a blend of rookies and seasoned players. The practice squad includes Israel Abanikanda (RB), Jordan Hudson (WR), Anthony Smith (WR), Michael Trigg (TE), and several others.

Noteworthy performances during the preseason came from wide receiver Jordan Hudson, who made notable catches, and defensive tackle Tommy Dunn, who was acknowledged for his solid run defense. Linebacker Justin Barron, who transitioned from safety, excelled in coverage, while Curtis Robinson made significant contributions on special teams. Reddy Steward demonstrated reliability in the defensive backfield.

Some players who were cut found new opportunities elsewhere. Julius Wood joined the Miami Dolphins, while guard Trevor Keegan signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Sam Williams, who had 8.5 sacks in his first two seasons, is now with the Cleveland Browns after facing challenges following an ACL injury.

Jaydon Blue, along with defensive backs Zion Childress and Trikweze Bridges, signed with other NFL teams' practice squads, marking a new chapter in their careers.
