Baylor University has announced the signing of Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano praised Duanrui's strong work ethic, mental resilience, and commitment to growth.
Duanrui, from Tianjin, China, has reached career-high standings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. She has recorded 52 singles victories, including significant wins at the M15 Tianjin in 2026 and the W15 tournaments in Luan and Maanshan in 2025.
In her doubles career, she has made it to the quarterfinals five times, with notable performances at the W15 Tianjin in 2026 and three draws at the W15 Luan in 2025, as well as a quarterfinal finish at the W15 Maanshan in 2025.
The Baylor women's tennis team wrapped up the 2025 season with a No. 34 ranking in the ITA Year-End team standings, marking their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 19th journey to the second round. The season also featured four players earning All-Big 12 honors, three victories over ranked teams, and two players advancing to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
