The game remained deadlocked at 1-1 until the fifth inning, when Texas unleashed a six-run barrage that effectively ended any hope of an Arizona comeback.

Dízing opened the rally with a single to center field, bringing Burger home to take a 2-1 lead. Jung followed with another single to center, scoring Díaz and advancing Seager to second. Nimmo then doubled to right, driving in Seager to make it 3-1.
The inning concluded with Duran singling to center field, allowing both Jung and Nimmo to score, pushing the final margin of the frame to 6-1.
Arizona attempted a late rally in the sixth inning when Carroll hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Moreno to make the final score 6-2. Despite the late run, the Diamondbacks could not overcome the deficit.
