Rallying in the Middle Frames
The Texas Rangers overcame an early deficit to secure a 7-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Thursday, with Seiner Seager providing the decisive offensive spark in the seventh inning. The win brought the Rangers’ record to .500 at 76-76, while the Red Sox fell to 82-70.
Boston struck first in the top of the first inning when Gabriel Contreras launched a home run to left-center field, measuring 403 feet. The blast drove in Jose Abreu, giving the visitors a 2-0 lead. The Rangers responded in the bottom of the frame with a ground-rule double by Evan Carter that scored Adolis Garcia, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
The game remained tight until the fourth inning when Marcus Semien’s single to center field plated Corey Seager, tying the contest at 2-2. The momentum shifted in the fifth inning when Boston’s pitching struggled with control. Two balks allowed Nick Gordon to score and put Story on third base, though no additional runs crossed the plate on those plays immediately.
Later in the frame, Michael Langford singled to center field, scoring Jung Hoo Kang and giving the Rangers a 3-2 lead.
Late Inning Explosion
The Rangers broke the game open in the seventh inning against Erik Miller. Seager doubled to center field, driving in Corey Seager to make it 3-4. Two batters later, Wilyer Abreu singled to left field, bringing home Evan Carter and Marcus Semien to extend the lead to 3-6.
