Miami responded in the fifth inning. Christian Yelich hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Nick Caissie to score and cut the deficit to 2-1.

The Marlins tied the game in the sixth inning. Jesus Luzardo tripled to left field, and Luis Arraez scored. Luzardo was thrown out at home while stretching for the run, making the score 2-2.

Miami attempted to rally in the bottom of the eighth. Jesus Luzardo doubled to right field, and Nick Caissie scored to tie the game at 3-3.

However, the Rangers’ bullpen held firm. Tyler Alexander pitched a scoreless top of the ninth, striking out one batter and allowing no hits or walks. He was followed by Kumar Rocker, who pitched five innings earlier in the game, allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out nine.
