Early Surge by Tampa Bay

Texas seized the lead in the fifth inning. Franco singled to center, and Burger scored to make it 6-5. Duran followed with a single to right, scoring another run for an 8-5 advantage. The Rays trimmed the deficit in the seventh when Luis DeLuca singled to center, driving in one run to make it 6-8.

Pitching Performance

Tampa Bay’s starting pitcher Ian Seymour struggled, allowing five hits and three earned runs over three innings before being replaced by Kevin Kelly, who pitched a scoreless frame. Steven Matz took the loss after giving up two runs in one inning. Cole Sulser allowed one earned run in his appearance.

For the Rangers, MacKenzie Gore endured a tough outing, surrendering seven hits and five earned runs in three innings. Trevor Williams stabilized the game with two hitless innings to earn the win. Chase Silseth, Tyler Alexander, and Jacob Latz each pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Jakob Junis closed out the game with a perfect inning to secure his sixth save.
