The game remained deadlocked at 2-2 entering the bottom of the seventh inning until Rafaela changed the momentum with a decisive hit. Rafaela singled to left field, driving in two runs to give the Red Sox a 4-2 lead. The play also advanced Monasterio to second base, setting up further scoring opportunities for Boston.

Texas held the early advantage after the first inning. In the third, Langford singled to center and scored on a fielding error by Rangers second baseman Kiner-Falefa, who was charged with the mistake after Langford reached second safely. The Rangers responded immediately when Kiner-Falefa scored on a Gasper single to right, tying the game at 1-1. Mayer advanced to second, and later scored on an Abreu single to right, giving Texas a 2-1 lead.
Boston tied the score in the fourth inning when Helman hit a sacrifice fly to right, allowing Jung to score. The Red Sox took the lead in the seventh, but Texas answered in the eighth. Burger homered to center, measuring 421 feet, to make it 4-3. Duran followed with a home run to right center, 400 feet away, driving in Contreras to extend Boston’s lead to 6-3.
