Peters Extends Hitting Streak
Tristan Peters extended his consecutive game home run streak to five, delivering a pivotal two-run shot in the fifth inning that helped propel the Chicago White Sox to a 10-4 victory over the Texas Rangers at Rate Field on Wednesday.
Peters’ blast traveled 362 feet to right field, driving in Logan Rogers and breaking a 2-2 tie. The hit was part of a broader offensive explosion by Chicago, which outscored Texas 8-2 across the middle innings after trailing early.
Middle Innings Define Outcome
The Rangers held a 2-0 lead through two innings thanks to scoring from Brandon Montgomery and Andrew Heaney’s support. Montgomery doubled in the second inning, followed by Andrew Heaney’s single that scored Montgomery, giving Texas an early advantage.
Pederson answered for Chicago in the third with a two-run homer to right center, tying the game at 2-2.
The White Sox took control in the fourth. Peters reached on an infield single, then Antonacci singled him home. Vargas followed with another single, scoring Antonacci and putting Chicago ahead 4-2.
Chicago added more pressure in the sixth. Antonacci singled again, driving in Vargas for a 6-3 lead. Doyle then launched a three-run homer to left center, extending the margin to 9-3 before Duran’s single in the seventh made it 10-4.
