Peters Leads Offensive Surge
Tristan Peters provided the spark that turned the tide, delivering a two-run double in the first inning before adding a solo home run later in the game. His performance helped propel the Chicago White Sox to an 11-7 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday at Rate Field.
Peters’ double in the top of the first drove in two runs, extending Chicago’s lead to 6-0 after the Rangers had taken a brief 1-0 advantage. The inning was a disaster for Texas starter Jacob deGrom, who allowed six hits and eight earned runs across 3.2 innings while walking five batters.
Early Inning Breakdown
The White Sox jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. After Vargas singled and scored on a throwing error by Rangers left fielder Langford, B. Montgomery singled to bring Murakami home. Peters then doubled to right, scoring both Vargas and Montgomery. Doyle followed with a single to center, driving in two more runs to make it 6-0.
Texas responded in the second inning when Burger homered to center, cutting the deficit to 6-1. However, the Rangers’ offense could not generate further momentum against White Sox pitching.
Pitching Decisions and Late Rally
Chicago’s bullpen held firm after deGrom’s exit. Anthony Kay started for the White Sox, pitching 4.2 innings with four earned runs allowed. Jordan Hicks entered in relief, giving up three earned runs in one inning before Bryan Hudson secured the win by pitching 1.1 scoreless innings.
