Little Elm neighborhoods that signed up to host block parties for National Night Out can expect visitors in uniform Tuesday evening.
The Little Elm Police Department says officers will stop by as many parties as possible on Tuesday, Oct. 6, handing out giveaways and talking with residents.
The annual event is meant to bring neighbors and police together. The department describes it as a night of "fun, food, and friendship," whether a street fires up a grill, sets out games or simply gathers on the sidewalk.
How parties got on the list
Residents had until Sept. 15 to register a party through the town, which uses the form to plan street closures and other needs ahead of time. The town waived block party permit fees for the event.
