Classic rock fans have a lakeside show on the town calendar this weekend, and residents with old prescriptions have a date the following Saturday to get rid of them.

LC Rocks at Little Elm Park

LC Rocks, which bills itself as Texas' premier '80s tribute band, is scheduled to play Little Elm Park at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. The town's event listing runs the show until 9 p.m. at the park, 701 W. Eldorado Parkway.

According to the listing, the band covers rock hits from the 1970s, '80s and '90s, and its members are longtime professional musicians. The town's posting does not mention tickets or an admission charge, so concertgoers may want to check the town's website or social media for details on parking and what they can bring before heading out.

The same weekend brings the Halloween party bike and bar crawl through the Lakefront District, which the town lists from Friday, Oct. 16, through Sunday, Oct. 18.

Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 24

The town will collect unused and expired medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Public Safety Building, 88 W. Eldorado Parkway, as part of the national DEA Take Back Day.

The town's notice points residents who cannot make it that day to a list of year-round drop-off locations and to the Drug Enforcement Administration's Take Back Day website, dea.gov/takebackday, for more information on what is accepted.

Both events are listed on the town's online calendar, which also carries the rest of October's parks, library and Lakefront programs.
