First-Half Dominance
Joe Milton III established control early, delivering a precise performance that set the tone for Dallas’s 34-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium. The visiting Cowboys took advantage of their opportunities in the opening period, building an insurmountable lead before halftime.
Milton connected with Malik Davis on an eight-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring, followed shortly by a 53-yard strike to Jonathan Mingo. Brandon Aubrey’s kicks converted both scores, pushing the Cowboys ahead 14-0.
Arizona struggled to generate momentum against Dallas’s defense in the first quarter, finishing the period scoreless while their opponents capitalized on every drive. The Cardinals’ only early answer came from kicker Chad Ryland, who drilled a 38-yard field goal to put his team on the board at 14-3.
Second Quarter Expansion
Dallas continued its offensive rhythm in the second half, extending its lead through both ground and air attacks. Milton contributed directly to the scoreboard with a one-yard rushing touchdown, increasing the advantage to 21-3.
The Cowboys’ kicking game remained reliable, as Aubrey added two more field goals, including a 50-yarder, to cap the first half at 24-6 after Ryland narrowed the gap with a 31-yard kick.
Milton’s efficiency was evident throughout the early going, completing nine of thirteen passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns. His ability to manage the game allowed Dallas to maintain possession and keep the Cardinals’ offense off the field. Jaydon Blue provided balance on the ground, carrying the ball fifteen times for 75 yards.
