Early Momentum Shifts
The Dallas Mavericks established a commanding lead that proved difficult for the Indiana Pacers to overcome, securing a 121-105 victory on Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The game’s decisive turning point arrived during the first quarter, where Dallas outscored Indiana 44-27 to set the tone for the rest of the contest. Kyrie Irving emerged as the standout performer for the visitors, finishing with 24 points.
He connected on multiple three-pointers, including a 28-foot jumper and a 27-foot shot, to keep the Mavericks ahead. Naji Marshall added six assists, facilitating a balanced offensive attack that kept the home team at bay.
Second Half Struggle
Despite a spirited effort by the Pacers in the second half, they could not close the gap. Indiana managed to outscore Dallas 33-21 in the third quarter, narrowing the deficit to 89-76. Tyrese Haliburton provided a spark for the home side, recording seven assists and helping to orchestrate the Pacers’ scoring runs.
Pascal Siakam led all scorers with 23 points, hitting key shots from the perimeter. However, the Mavericks’ lead from the first half proved too large to erase, as Dallas held onto a double-digit advantage entering the final period.
