Little Elm, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.8202 per gallon for regular unleaded on October 9, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.8490 yesterday. That is down from $3.9774 a week ago and higher than $3.8067 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.8511, while the national average is $4.3718. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 1 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.8091, drivers are paying about 101 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.6391 per gallon, AAA reported.
