Alvarez Leads Offensive Surge
Yordan Alvarez provided the decisive blow for the Houston Astros with a grand slam in the second inning, helping the home team dismantle the Oakland Athletics 13-2 on Saturday at Daikin Park. Alvarez’s blast to right field, measuring 369 feet, drove in three runs and shifted the momentum firmly in Houston’s favor.
The Astros’ offense was relentless, capitalizing on early opportunities to build a commanding lead. Alvarez’s power display was complemented by Jose Altuve, who added a solo home run to left field in the third inning. Altuve’s 352-foot shot extended Houston’s advantage and highlighted the team’s ability to generate offense from multiple sources.
