Astros Offense Explodes in Later Innings
The Houston Astros overcame a slow start to deliver a decisive 11-2 victory over the Texas Rangers at Daikin Park on Saturday. While the Rangers held a 6-0 lead entering the sixth inning, Houston’s offense ignited with a flurry of power and timely hitting to secure the win.
The game began with Texas controlling the pace. In the second inning, Adolis Garcia drove in two runs, including a double by Corey Seager that scored both him and Marcus Semien. The Rangers extended their advantage in the fourth when Seager singled to left to bring home Corey Seager, making it 4-0.
By the fifth inning, the Rangers had built a commanding 6-0 lead, fueled by home runs from Seager and Garcia.
However, the momentum shifted dramatically in the sixth inning. Yainer Diaz launched a home run to left-center field, cutting the deficit to 6-1. He followed that with a double in the seventh that scored two more runs, pushing the score to 9-2. Diaz added another home run in the eighth inning, further extending Houston’s lead.
Alex Bregman also played a pivotal role, hitting a solo home run in the fifth inning. He later contributed with a single in the seventh that scored a run. The Astros continued to chip away at the Rangers’ lead, with Seager hitting a home run in the sixth and Garcia adding another in the eighth.
Pitching Performances Define Early Game
Texas Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi took the loss, pitching 5.0 innings while allowing 10 hits and 6 earned runs. He struck out 5 batters but struggled to contain Houston’s powerful lineup. Luis Curvelo pitched 2.0 innings, giving up 4 hits and 4 earned runs, while Nicky Lopez added 1.0 inning with 1 earned run allowed.
