Little Elm ISD trustees will take up improvement plans for four campuses next week, including a turnaround action plan that gets its own public hearing before the regular meeting, according to agendas the district has posted for Monday, Oct. 19.
The hearing starts at 5:30 p.m. in the board room of the Little Elm ISD Administration Building, 400 Lobo Lane. Its only presentation is the "Turnaround Action Plan for School Improvement," led by Ashley Holmes, Penny Tramel and Jason Evans, followed by citizen input and board comments. The agenda does not name the campus the plan covers.
Four campuses on the action list
The regular meeting follows at 6 p.m. Trustees are scheduled to discuss and consider:
- Targeted support and intervention plans for Hackberry Elementary, Walker Middle School, Brent Elementary and Little Elm Elementary
- Approval of the turnaround action plan
- Local improvement plans for Brent and Hackberry elementaries
- The district's annual financial report for the year that ended June 30
The agenda lists each item for possible approval but does not include the plans themselves.
When the 2026 state ratings came out in August, the district reported an overall score of 78, two points short of a B, with a B in student achievement. Superintendent Michael Lamb said at the time that reading scores had grown across grade levels and that math needed to improve, noting the district adopted a new math curriculum last year.
The district's release highlighted Walker's score of 78 and its first distinction designation, in reading and language arts.
