Prosper and Celina residents must navigate specific restrictions and schedule changes as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary. Both municipalities have enacted ordinances that prohibit the sale, possession, and use of fireworks within their corporate limits. These prohibitions extend to extraterritorial jurisdictions located within 5,000 feet of the city boundaries. In the unincorporated areas of Denton and Collin counties outside these zones, fireworks remain permitted on private property.

For those seeking organized displays, Prosper is hosting its Pride in the Sky event on July 2. The celebration at Frontier Park runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and includes live music, food trucks, and vendors. The fireworks portion of the evening is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. Prosper is located approximately 9 miles northeast of Little Elm.

Municipal services will operate on modified schedules during the holiday weekend. The Prosper Community Library and its book drop-off facility will remain closed on July 3 and 4. Town administrative offices, including utility billing and the 407 Rec Center, will also be closed on July 3. Normal trash and recycling collection will continue in Prosper, but bulk trash drop-off services are suspended for the week. Celina Public Library will close on July 4.

Celina City Hall maintains a standard four-day work week and will not alter its hours for the holiday. Further details regarding specific holiday event programming or additional service adjustments were not provided by the municipalities.
