Little Elm Animal Services is asking residents to help stock its shelter with everyday supplies for the animals in its care.
In a notice posted Oct. 14, the town listed the kinds of donations that are useful, depending on current needs:
- Pet food and treats that have not passed their expiration date
- Blankets, towels and pet bedding
- Toys and enrichment items
- Paper products and other shelter supplies
Because the shelter's needs shift through the year, the town asks people to check with Animal Services before dropping off large amounts or anything not on the list.
Animal Services also keeps an Amazon wish list of items picked for the animals and the shelter. Purchases from the list ship straight to Little Elm Animal Services.
The town posted a second Animal Services notice the same day pointing residents to its online Animal Services Map, where they can check whether their address falls inside the department's service area.
