Nico Collins missed a second consecutive Houston Texans practice because of a hamstring injury, leaving his status uncertain for the Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Houston has one practice remaining before Sunday’s matchup, and no final decision on Collins had been announced.
The 27-year-old wide receiver suffered the injury while getting ready for Week 2 and was absent from Houston’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Texans’ 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, Collins caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown from 10 targets.
He has reached 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025, putting that run at risk if he misses Week 3.
Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more chances if Collins is unavailable at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced 175 receiving yards on 16 catches through two games. Collins’ next chance would come in Week 4, when Houston is set to host the Dallas Cowboys.
The former Michigan Wolverines player also received an offseason contract adjustment from the Texans. The report was published by sports.yahoo.com and first appeared on ClutchPoints.
