The Houston Texans will be missing wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the entirety of the 2026 season following a torn ACL. This injury occurred while he was participating in a joint practice session with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Higgins, who was the 34th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a strong performance in his rookie year, tallying 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He emerged as a significant target for quarterback C.J. Stroud after teammate Tank Dell was injured late in the 2024 season.

In the 2025 season, Higgins recorded 41 catches from 68 targets, seeing an increase in his role during Houston's successful nine-game winning streak to finish the regular season. He notably scored four of his six touchdowns in the last nine weeks and achieved his best yardage outputs in Weeks 13 and 17.

With Higgins sidelined, the Texans will rely on players like Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to step up in the receiving lineup. The team remains optimistic about Tank Dell's potential return from his own injury as the season progresses. Details regarding Higgins' recovery timeline have not yet been disclosed.
