As Baylor football gears up for the upcoming season, the team has revealed its projected offensive starters following the second week of fall camp. This announcement comes as the Bears prepare for their first game of the season.
DJ Lagway will take on the role of starting quarterback. Coaches have commended Lagway's performance since his arrival, and he has expressed confidence in the offensive system crafted by Jake Spavital, which is expected to enhance his skills and contribute to the team's performance in the Big 12.
Dawson Pendergrass is anticipated to be the starting running back. After sitting out last season, Pendergrass is eager to make a notable impact, having previously amassed over 670 rushing yards and six touchdowns in his first two years. His ability to run physically and catch passes adds value to the backfield.
The wide receiver lineup is expected to include Louis Brown IV and Dre'lon Miller. Brown, who has played at Colorado State and San Diego State, is projected to be the main deep threat, while Miller, a former top recruit, showcased versatility during his time at Colorado.
Gavin Freeman, coming from Oklahoma State, is likely to take the slot receiver position. Known for his speed and agility, Freeman could play a crucial role in short routes and return scenarios.
At tight end, Tony Livingston joins after two years at Florida, bringing experience as both a blocker and pass catcher. The offensive line is set to feature Logan Moore at left tackle, Nate Kibble at left guard, Koltin Sieracki at center, Asher Hale at right guard, with the right tackle position still to be determined.
