Foscue’s triple backs Bradford as Rangers shut out Giants 6-0

Four-run third breaks it open

Foscue’s two-run triple was the swing that gave the Texas Rangers control Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, in a 6-0 win over the San Francisco Giants at Globe Life Field.

The Rangers did all of their early damage in the bottom of the third inning. Nimmo singled to right to score Langford for a 1-0 lead. Foscue followed with a triple to left that brought in Nimmo and Burger, pushing the margin to 3-0. Díaz then doubled to left, scoring Foscue and completing a four-run inning.

Bradford sets the tone

Cody Bradford handled 4.1 scoreless innings for Texas, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out five. Tyler Alexander followed with 1.2 innings, allowing no hits and no walks with three strikeouts, and earned the win to improve to 2-2.

Robby Ahlstrom pitched one inning, allowing one hit and striking out one. Chase Silseth also pitched one inning, allowing one hit and one walk with one strikeout. Cole Winn completed one inning, allowing one hit with no walks and no strikeouts.

Texas adds on

The Rangers extended the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Nimmo homered to left, a 350-foot drive that made it 5-0. It was the only home run of the game.

Texas added its final run in the bottom of the eighth. Lopez singled to center, scoring Burger and moving Pederson to second for the 6-0 margin.

Carson Whisenhunt took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 2-3. He allowed five hits, four earned runs and three walks with four strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Carson Seymour allowed two hits, one earned run and one walk with two strikeouts in 2.2 innings.

Jason Foley pitched one scoreless inning with no hits, no walks and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed two hits, one earned run and one walk with one strikeout in one inning.

Records

The announced attendance was 26,098.

Texas improved to 57-58 with the win. San Francisco fell to 48-67.
